The Hajra & Zaheer Khan Scholarship

In collaboration with The Samar Program

The Hajra & Zaheer Khan Scholarship is a new scholars initiative in Pakistan aimed at breaking down barriers for current Pakistani students-our home students-who are most likely to face challenges when attending university. The initiative provides funding for students from disadvantaged social backgrounds to encourage them to develop their academic potential by giving them the opportunity to apply to any Pakistani university they aspire to study in, without being hindered by financial constraints*. The aim is to support them through to graduation and help them build brighter futures.
The scholarship will support selected students, who are either starting an undergraduate programme, or are currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme, for the full duration of their studies by paying their educational institution directly.

Eligibility criteria

In order to be eligible to apply, you must meet the following criteria:

You must be aged 18 or older.

You must be a full-time undergraduate student at a recognized University. Any degree discipline is welcome.

You must be a Pakistani student.

You must self-identify as a student from an area of low higher education participation, low household income, or low socioeconomic status.

You must provide complete evidence of the above.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview, and the final results will be communicated via email. All successful candidates will receive full funding of their chosen undergraduate programme for the duration of the coursework**.

*Students are encouraged to apply for this scholarship if they have been accepted into a top-ranking college or university but cannot pursue the opportunity due to their financially disadvantaged background.
**The continuation of the scholarship is subject to maintaining a 60% cumulative grade for each successive academic term. The decision to continue the scholarship will be made after a full review of academic progress and evaluation interview at each end-of-term.
